Tags are used to control which Playlists are available on each Screen. There are 2 simple rules that explain how tags work:
- A Playlist with 1 or more tags will be available on any Screen that shares ANY Tag with the Playlist
- A Playlist with no tags will be available on ALL Screens
Example Use Case
A church with 2 campuses (North and South). The North campus has 3 kid's rooms and 1 TV in the lobby. The South campus has 5 kid's rooms and 2 TVs in the lobby.
With this setup, playlists can be deployed to different screens based on their location and how they are used. For example playlists for the Early Childhood and Elementary rooms can be created with the EC and EL tags. Playlists for Welcome Center can be tagged with the Lobby tag.
Some rooms are used for more than one thing. Room 103 at the North campus and 203 at the South campus have a Starting Point class. To do this we have a Starting Point tag on the Screens and the Playlist
Some playlists should be available on all Screens. To do this we don't add any tags and the Playlist will be available on all Screens.
Sometimes campuses do special events. Let's say the South campus does a worship night and has childcare in the Early Childhood rooms. We can create a Playlist with the South EC tag the only shows up on the Early Childhood rooms at the South campus. We can also create a Playlist with the South Lobby tag that is only available on the South Lobby Screens.
