We've added this to the roadmap 👍

Timing maybe a bit further out on this one

We’ve been actively exploring this feature, but we’ve encountered an unexpected technical roadblock with AWS, which is currently limiting our ability to support 4K streaming. Despite this, our team is continuing to research potential solutions, and we’re committed to finding a path forward. We’ll keep you updated as we make progress and will let you know when we have a clearer timeline for delivering this feature.

Thank you Grant G. , This would be an important feature for Playlister to support to be considered as a Digital Signage solution for us. Has the AWS API upgrade announced in Release Note 6.2 removed the technical roadblock so that Playlister could support 4K or UHD resolution content in the near future?

Yes, the AWS API upgrade in Release Note 6.2 is a key improvement that helps enhance our capabilities to support higher-quality files like 4K content in the future. That said, we need to take a balanced approach in our development resources since many of the churches we serve don’t use 4K. While we’re exploring ways to support higher-resolution content, we also need to ensure it aligns with the broader needs of our user base.

To better understand how this would impact your workflow, Evan will be reaching out to you directly to collect some of your files for testing.

This will help us refine our approach and make sure Playlister can fully support your needs.
