Play an audio track while displaying a slide deck

We are currently using Playlister for our Community Groups and Gatherings. These are super small campuses with only 50-100 attendees and a single host or staff person. Our playlists are built like this.
- 15-minute Slideloop with music - Video Element
- Welcome/Worship set/Prayer - Video Element
- Slide deck for local host's Vision and Offering - Image Files (Forwarded by host as they make announcements)
- Roll in/Message/Closing Song/Closing/Slide loop - Video Element
For V&O, we would love to be able to play a music track behind those slides that would continue to play while they advance through the slide deck and fade out when they transition to the next video element.
We also do Next Steps environments for adults where a music playlist playing behind some slide deck images would be great.
I know we could just create a video element with slides and music, but that would remove the presenter's ability to forward through the slides on command.
