Release 6.6 - Playlist Defaults, Auto-Advance Fixes and NEW Analytics
🚀 New Release: Smarter Playlist Defaults & Auto-Advance Fixes!
This update brings some highly requested improvements to playlist behavior, making it easier than ever to manage media playback. Here’s what’s new:
Â
🎬 Default Next Action for Media Items
• Now, you can pre-set the “Next Action” before adding media to a playlist!
• The selected action will automatically apply to all newly added items, saving you extra clicks.
• The selected icon is now highlighted so you know what’s set.
• Added a default duration setting—no more resetting to 10 seconds every time!
• When using “Set All ⇒ Go to Next”, your playlist won’t reset durations anymore.
đź’ˇ Why this matters: This makes updating playlists easier and ensures seamless playback without unnecessary manual adjustments.

⏩ New Media Now Inherits Auto-Advance Settings
• When adding media to a playlist that’s set to Auto-Advance, new items will now inherit that setting instead of defaulting to “Pause at the End.”
• Fixes playback issues where newly added media would pause unexpectedly.
• Ensures consistent playback across all digital signage setups.
💡 Why this matters: No more playlists getting “stuck” when you add new content—everything now follows your Auto-Advance settings automatically!

I'm excited to explore Playlister Analytics after the first full weekend of data is tracked! Great Idea!

This is just the beginning—we’re adding more analytics in the coming weeks, and we’d love your input.Â
What data would be most useful for you?

Grant G. This is my initial input before our first full weekend of Analytics data, I'll have more input after using it for a few weekends.
Average Completion Percentage is a great metric to be able to track! I'd love to see that as part of the “Your Top Shared Playlists” beside the "Unique Users" & "Total Views" information rather than having to click the "View" button to see the percentage for each playlist.
Your Top Shared Playlists It would be nice to see the Top 10 Playlists instead of 5.
What's your team working on? It would be much better to see the last 25-50 maybe even the last 100 changes even if I need to scroll down to see more. I regularly make changes to 5+ Playlists in under a minute or two just by myself, so currently the 5 most recent changes doesn't go back far enough to be as useful as this feature could be.
What is the time frame for “My Analytics”? Does the data ( Example: "Total Views") reset after a week, a month or always continues growing?0 -
Appreciate your feedback!Â
Here’s what we’re taking from your initial input:
- Average Completion Percentage on Main Page – Makes sense, we’ll discuss bringing it up alongside Unique Users & Total Views.
- Top Shared Playlists Expanding to 10 – Great suggestion, we’ll explore increasing this.
- "What’s Your Team Working On?" Expansion – We hear you on this. Expanding it to show more than just the last 5 changes would make it much more useful.
I’ll loop back once we’ve scoped these ideas out. Thanks again for taking the time to share!

The "Your Top Shared Playlists" Analytics data didn't update after ~100 Screens watched Playlist content this weekend. Would that be because some if not most of the Playlists we played this past weekend haven't had “Enable Sharing” clicked yet?
After using Analytic's this weekend I noticed that the “What's your team working on?” doesn't track Media that has been Replaced with new footage, Uploading New Media or that Media has been Deleted. Replacing Media is an important step that we do each weekend that would be nice to track in this list of most recent changes if Replacing Media is possible to track too in addition to when New Media has been Uploaded or Deleted. This is already a great feature that I was glad to be able to use this weekend!1
