Change the Wi-Fi or Ethernet Network on a Playlister Pro Kit

Changing networks on a Playlister Pro Apple TV takes a few steps because the device is locked into Playlister mode.

Before you begin

Please email support@playlister.app before turning off your old Wi-Fi or Ethernet network.

Keep each Apple TV connected to its current network until our team confirms it has been temporarily unlocked. This makes the transition much smoother.

What you’ll need

• Your Apple TV
• A charged Apple TV remote
• The new Wi-Fi network name and password, or a working Ethernet connection on the new network

Important

Your Apple TV needs an internet connection during setup so Playlister can reinstall automatically after the reset.

Do not turn off the old network until the Apple TV has connected to the new network and Playlister has reinstalled.

Reset the Apple TV

After our team confirms the device has been unlocked:

1. Press and hold the Menu and TV/Home buttons on the Apple TV remote at the same time for 5 to 10 seconds.
2. Release both buttons when the light on the Apple TV starts flashing. The screen will go black while the Apple TV restarts.
3. Wait for the Apple TV to finish booting and return to the Playlister home screen.
4. Repeat this restart cycle (steps 1-3) four more times. Start each restart shortly after the Playlister home screen returns. Do not wait several minutes between cycles.
5. On the fifth or sixth restart, the Apple TV should enter Recovery Mode.
6. Select Reset All Settings.
7. The Apple TV will restart and begin setup again.
8. During setup, connect to the new Wi-Fi network or plug in Ethernet on the new network.

9. Once the Apple TV has internet access, Playlister will reinstall automatically.

    

If Playlister does not reinstall

Make sure the Apple TV is connected to a network with working internet access. If it is still showing a black screen or Playlister does not return after setup, email support@playlister.app with the Apple TV’s asset tag number and we will help.
