Add Smooth Transitions with Dissolve

The Crossfade effect, also called Dissolve, blends one image or video into the next instead of switching instantly. It’s especially useful for signage, announcements, and other simple visual content.

Dissolve works with both remote-controlled playback and Auto Advance.

Before you begin: Update your Apple TV’s Playlister app to version 8.0.1 or later.

Turn on Dissolve for individual items

1. Open your playlist in the Playlist Manager.
2. Right-click an image or video.
3. Select Turn on Dissolve.
4. Repeat for the other images and videos in your playlist.

For the most consistent result, turn on Dissolve for every visual item in the playlist.

Turn on Dissolve for an entire Mix Slide

If your media is inside a Mix Slide, you can apply Dissolve to all its visual items at once:

1. Find the Mix Slide’s Visual Track.
2. Right-click the Visual Track heading, or click its three-dot menu.
3. Select Turn on Dissolve for all visual items.

This applies the effect to every image and video within that Visual Track.

Note: Applying Dissolve to multiple items at once is currently available only within a Mix Slide’s Visual Track. Outside a Mix Slide, you’ll need to enable it individually.

Preview your transitions

Save your playlist and play it on your Apple TV or use Share Link to see the effect. The transition speed is fixed and doesn’t require any adjustments.
